Hello World!

I am Zul(qarnain) Mehdi, a tech enthusiast who wears many hats. In the last 12 years or so of my professional journey, I have been a mobile and full-stack web developer, a DevOps and Platform Engineer, a Cloud Solutions Architect, and a Tech Lead across Europe and Middle East.

All these hats have enabled me to work with a plethora tools and technologies throughout my career, including Azure, AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD, NodeJS, Python, .Net/C#, React, ReactNative, Native iOS/Android, UWP, WPF, Relational DBs, NoSQL DBs, OpenAI, and more!

I also have a Masters degree in IT, and a Bachelors degree in Computer Science. I am also an author of a published paper, titled File Synchronization Systems Survey.

I like to call myself a "Pakistani from Dubai who lives in Sweden", as I was born in Pakistan, raised in Dubai, and am now living in Sweden.

When I'm not at my laptop, I enjoy a game of Minecraft with my 5-year-old son, Zain, or football with both Zain and his younger brother, Zayan.

In my free time, I'd be seen reading a book, watching TV (usually with my wife, Aroosa), gaming, or just learning something new. Or perhaps going on a drive with the family, exploring the beautiful Skåne!

While I have identified coding as my one true passion, I also have a deep love or technical writing. To write more often, I have decided to start a blog in which I aim to pour out my knowledge and experience from the tech world to help others, while also continuing to learn myself.

I would love to learn more about how I can improve this blog, so I hope to get as much feedback as I can about the topics, my writing style, the post structures, and whatever else there is I can improve upon!
